Redford steers One Guyana Racing team to GT Challenge double

Will Redford and Peter Lewis Construction kept the Golden Arrowhead flying high over the weekend at the Bushy Park Circuit in Barbados, where the GT Challenge de las Americas Round Four took centre stage.
Between the One Guyana Racing Team and Rameez Mohamed, it was a productive weekend for Guyana’s motor sport, which showed its class.
Redford took the cake in the GTS class, claiming the chequered flag in both races. Steering the Peter Lewis Construction Mercedes-AMG GT3, Redford had a best lap of 58.061s in the first race for an overall time of 31:18.672 and the victory.
He returned to race two to produce a best lap of 57.185s and an overall time of 31:52.709 in 31 laps for another first-place finish.
On both instances, Trinidadian duo Zachary Boodram and Kristian Boodosingh claimed second place while Carlos Hernandez and Juan Diego Hernandez completed the podium.

Following his second successive win at Bushy Park in Barbados, Redford reflected on the victory and shared which race is next on his radar.
“Very sweaty, very tired, but could’ve done much more, I think. So, two wins, two fastest laps. Yeah, just relieved, happy, and thankful for the team, Peter Lewis Construction and everybody that’s put this programme together and everybody that’s trusted me along the way,” Redford shared in an interview.
The British driver added, “Just can’t wait for more.”
Turning his attention to the next stop of the Peter Lewis Construction’s agenda, Redford disclosed, “Next will be the clash in November. Of course, probably not doing it next go because we don’t want to risk getting the car stuck in between; coming back from Mexico to Guyana is quite a tight turnaround. So, the car is going back to Guyana, and we’ll be ready for the clash in November.”
Meanwhile, Rameez Mohamed also showed up for the Guyanese contingent. Steering his KTM X-Bow, Mohamed had a best lap of 1:03.547 and 32:30.549 overall for a second-place finish in his first GTS Turbo race.
However, the Guyanese driver rebounded well, producing a best lap of 1:06.314 and, overall, 32.16.666 for first place in the second race.
While Juan Diego Hernandez and Tatiana Calderon won the first GTS Turbo race, they had to settle for second in the following contest, behind Mohamed’s dominance.
