Redman seeks improvement in 2019

The Georgetown Cricket Association (GCA) has had a successful run for the 2018/2019 season. While many players are enjoying the off season focusing on how to better themselves in 2019, some are reaping the fruits of their labour, such as Transport Sports Club all-rounder Akeem Redman.
Speaking with Guyana Times Sport, Redman said, when asked about some of his achievements this year: “I was awarded the best fielder in the 2017-2018 NBS 40 overs tournament; becoming the best fielder of the tournament is something that comes from the work that I’ve been putting in overtime. I scored my highest score of 110* against Buxton Sports Club; I have always dreamt of getting a century this

year, but hard work and dedication helped me to exceed that dream, but come next year I’m looking to score at least five centuries in the 2019 season.”
According to Redman, he has seen improvement in his all-round abilities and his fitness when compared to 2017.
He went on to state that the changes he made aided him in recording his best bowling figures of 5-15 against Belle Vue on the West Bank of Demerara and his first hat-trick against Sophia Sports Club.
However, Redman stated: “The First Division season didn’t went so well for me this year, but come next year I’m going to work extremely hard for my goals that I have set for that division. I’ve recorded five half-centuries, one century and a total of 37 wickets for the year. I am having a productive 40-over season so far, but come 2019, I’m looking to be way better.” (Timothy Jaikarran)
