Regal Masters beat Success romp to commanding victory

It was a classic case of taking candy from a baby last Sunday when the action continued in the Regal Sport Softball Tournament as Fazleem Mohamed who blasted a fine century to help Regal Masters defeated Success Masters easily by 83 runs at GNIC Sports Club ground, Woolford Avenue, Georgetown.
Mohamed clobbered nine fours and seven sixes in scoring 104 to guide Regal Masters to 222-3, batting first at GNIC SC. Mohamed shared in a first wicket stand of 156 with Eon Abel who struck three fours and seven sixes in a rapid 79 while Rudolph Baker contributed 22 as the assault continued down the order.
With a daunting task ahead in the run chase, Success Masters were bowled out for 139 in 16.1 overs with Rafman Ali scoring 38 and Mark Fung 26. Abdool Samad had 2-11, Mohamed came back with the ball to pick up 2-15 while Mahendra Hardyal 2-42 was also among the wickets.
In their second match, Success Masters rebounded to beat Amazon Warriors by 57 runs. Batting first Success Masters managed 179-9 with Trevor Emmanuel making 33 and Rajesh Baljit 30 while K. Persaud had 2-22 and Rudolph Pereira 2-24 were in the wickets’ column.
Amazon Warriors were then knocked over for 122 all out in 17 overs in reply. A. Bacchus hit 35, R. Narine 20 and D. Singh 13 as Rafman Ali bagged 3-15 and Baljit 2-29.

At DCC, Mosiah XI beat Queenstown Masjid by one wicket. Queenstown Masjid took first strike and scored 110-5 off their allocation of 15 overs. Abid Haniff made 45 and Imran Ally 32. Mosiah XI responded with 112-9 in 9.2 overs. Saheed Khan made 38, Ravin Bhagwandin 28 and Doodnauth Shaw 23.
Success XI overcame AJ Hustlers by seven wickets. AJ Hustlers took first strike and scored 93 all out in 14.2 overs. Hiradeo Jailall made 44 as Diaram Ramnauth picked up 3-13, Greg Singh 3-14 and Dindial Lakhan 3-15. Success XI replied with 94-3 in eight overs. Wasim Haslim scored 39 not out.
Led by a fine century by Sachin Ramsarran, Farm beat Good Hope by 178 runs. Ramsarran struck 138 and got valuable support from Rajesh Reddy who hit a cameo 80 as Farm posted 247-3 in 15 overs, taking first strike. Ryan Singh took 2-20. Good Hope were sent packing for 69 in 10 overs in reply. Anand Sooknarine bagged 5-15 and Suraj Budhu 2-0.
At Carifesta Sports Complex, Ariel Masters defeated Mike’s Wellman by six runs. Batting first, Ariel scored 239-8. Fazal Ali slammed 94, Dharmendra Mohabir made 34 and Surendra Kumar 23; Wayne Jones had 2-17 and Hardat Heeranandan 2-44.
Mike’s Wellman responded with 233-9. Greg De Franca cracked 56 and Nandram Samlall 40. Kumar captured 5-45 and R. Kumar 2-20.
Savage beat HS Masters by six runs. Savage took first turn at the crease and got to 178-8. Troy Ramsawyack hit 57 and Ramo Malone made 23; R. Khan had 4-26. HS Masters responded with 172-9. N. Badassie and R. Ramdeen made 51 and 46 respectively. Unnis Yusuf snared 4-27.
