Region 1 man charged for killing co-worker

Dead: Timmol Harris

A Moruca, Region One (Barima-Waini) man, who is accused of killing his co-worker, was on Monday charged for the murder.
Randy Williams, a farmer, was hauled before Magistrate Zamilla Ali-Seepaul at the Leonora Magistrate’s Court. It is alleged that between October 10, 2020, and October 13, 2020, at Moroshi backdam, he murdered Timmol Harris.
The court heard that on October 13 about 07:00h, Harris’s lifeless body was pulled from a canal by farmers.
Following the discovery, nine persons were arrested, including Williams, who allegedly confessed to killing Harris.
The dead’s man brother, Lee Harris had told Guyana Times that Williams had been threatening his brother over the past year.
He said last November, his brother had an altercation with the suspect over a female, and in the process, his brother was cut to the face. Since then, the suspect, along with another man, has been threatening to kill Harris, the grieving brother related.
A post-mortem examination conducted on Harris’s body revealed that he died as a result of a chop wound to his upper neck.
Williams was remanded to prison, and the case was scheduled to continue on January 22, 2021. (G1)
