Region 10 Police Division kickstarts Road Safety Week

The Region 10 (Upper Demerara-Berbice) Police Division on Friday kickstarted its Road Safety Week 2020 observances with numerous activities in Linden.
The initiatives, which are being spearheaded by the Traffic Department, officially commenced with the hosting of a church service on Friday.
On Saturday, the Regional Division in collaboration with the Community Policing Group (CPG) and the Public Works Ministry repainted road markings and cleared the roadways along Mackenzie.

Several other activities including radio and television sensitisation programmes are also expected to be held in observance of Road Safety Week.
The Regional Traffic Statistics for 2019 to 2020 are also expected to be presented during the Christmas Policing Plan rollout on Tuesday.

Road Safety Week is being observed in Guyana from November 22 under the way theme, “Stop Speeding! Don’t Drink and Drive, Stay alive!”.
