Region 2 RDC hosts Phagwah mela

The Region Two Regional Democratic Council’s (RDC) Hindu Society on Friday hosted a Phagwah mela in observance of the festival of colours, which will be celebrated on Sunday.

The mela featured several cultural presentations including songs, dances, Chowtaal singing and several Holi renditions.
Pandit Ravin Nateram, who addressed the gathering, called on staff to use the occasion to remove all negativities from their lives as he shared the significance of the festival.
He also urged them to ensure that they renew their friendship and remove all barriers in life so that they can experience their full potential.
During the programme, various heads of department within the RDC extended Phagwah greetings to their staff and families.
Greetings were also extended by Regional Health Officer, Dr Ranjeev Singh, who reminded the audience to observed all COVID-19 guidelines when participating in Holi festivities.

Regional Executive Officer (REO) Devanand Ramdatt thanked the region’s Hindu Society for planning and executing the event while noting that the RDC will continue to work in the best interest of everyone.
Ramdatt urged persons to use the festival to practice kindness and extended Phagwah greetings to all who were present.
