Region 2 teenager commits suicide

Eighteen-year-old Franco Antonio Cornette, of Grant Annadale, Lower Pomeroon in Region Two (Pomeroon-Supenaam), ended his life by consuming a quantity of poisonous substance.
The incident reportedly occurred on December 25, 2016 around 19:30h; however, the young man succumbed on January 1 at the Charity Oscar Joseph Hospital.
The teenager lived with his father Courtney Cozier, who explained that he noticed his son vomiting a “greenish” substance into a bucket. The distraught father related that his son then admitted that he had consumed a poisonous substance. The lad was immediately rushed to the Charity Oscar Joseph Hospital where he was admitted.
Cornette was hospitalised for a few days, but tragically, he succumbed on New Year’s morning. His body is currently at the Charity mortuary awaiting a post-mortem examination.
