Region 2 Tourism Association recognised for tourism awareness in region

The Region Two Tourism Association was on Wednesday evening recognised for the efforts it spearheaded during Tourism Awareness Month 2018.
The body was able to work with other stakeholders in cleaning up the region, holding consultations on tourism awareness, meeting with the business community, and, more importantly, identifying hot spots in the Region.

association, President Maria Lords- Lewis pledged to work very hard with all interested groups and individuals to make Region Two a tourism destination.
The region’s main attractions, historic buildings and sites, as well as art and craft and rich cultural heritage are some of the aspects that will be promoted all year round.
The association intends to launch a number of programmes, including documentaries, brochures, billboards, television shows, and other things, to promote the Region’s tourism destinations.
Also on the agenda is to meet with the owners of hotels and other service providers to encourage them to upgrade their efforts to meet international standards and to make accommodation for visitors readily available.
