Home News Region 3 Administration launches COVID-19 hotlines
The Regional Administration of Region Three (Essequibo Islands-West Demerara) has launched two hotline numbers for the public, should there be any concerns or reports of a suspected COVID-19 case.
The region is among those to have recorded a confirmed case of the disease. On Tuesday, the department released two numbers 254-0313 and 254-1261 which residents in the region can contact.
Persons displaying symptoms are asked to call the hotlines and would consequently be visited at home, instead of them visiting the hospital.
While a national hotline was created for persons to call, many individuals have indicated that they did not receive assistance despite displaying symptoms. Some were visited some days later.
Along with Region Three, Regions Two (Pomeroon-Supenaam); Seven (Cuyuni-Mazaruni); Eight (Potaro-Siparuni); Nine (Upper Takutu-Essequibo) and 10 (Upper Demerara-Berbice) all have COVID-19 hotlines.
If anyone is experiencing symptoms of the coronavirus, they can call the Public Health Ministry’s hotline on 227-4986 ext 215 or 624-3067 and a team would be sent to their location.
