The Civil Defence Commission (CDC) has mobilised resources, and is on standby to offer support to Region Five (Mahaica-Berbice); Region Six (East Berbice-Corentyne) and Region Nine (Upper Takutu- Upper Essequibo), which have been experiencing adverse effects from heavy rainfall over the past few days.


According to Head of the CDC, Lieutenant Colonel Kester Craig, at this time, Region Nine is the most severely affected, with flooding in several communities while several others are on the watchlist for possible evacuation.
