Region One T10 7-a-side tape ball cricket competition: Mahdia Movements Family record back-to-back wins

The Mahdia Movements Family are continuing to maintain their unbeaten streak in the North-West District (Region One) T10 seven-a-side tape ball cricket competition, having registered two back-to-back wins respectively over 592 Moruca and Mabaruma in fixtures played at Moruca.

Ricardo Adams top-scored with 127 and 100 in his two games

In game one, against 592 Moruca, played at Sheba Ground in Region 1, Movements Family posted 191 runs without loss in their allotted 10 overs, with Rajendra Singh and Ricardo Adams manhandling the 592 bowlers to end their innings on 65 and 100 respectively.
Playing 592 Moruca on Moruca home turf, the Movements Family proved yet again why they are one of the top tape ball teams in the country, and must be treated as such.
Needing 192 for victory, at a rate in excess of 19 runs per over, the overwhelmed Moruca 592 fumbled and were bowled out for 99, losing by a whopping 92 runs. Keon La Rose top-scored for his side with 35, while the standout bowler for Movements Family was Daniel Seegobin, who took 2 wickets for 17 runs. Ricardo Adams showed his all-round prowess by bagging 1-4.

The victorious Mahdia Movements Family

In game two, against Mabaruma, Movements Family batted first and showed their competence yet again. Ricardo Adams was the proverbial ‘beast with the bat’, following up his century in the first game with a superb 127 not out. Adams was ably supported by Martin Singh, who chipped in with 32.
The dominant batting displayed by the Movements Family enabled them to post 178-2 in eight overs; and Heading into the chase, the huge target proved too much for Mabaruma, as they could muster only a meagre 56, thereby handing Movements Family victory by 122 runs.
The top performers for Mahdia Movements Family were Martin Singh (2-120) and Ricardo Adams (2-6). At the end of the tournament, Adams walked away with 227 runs from his two games, and also picked up 3 wickets.
In a statement made after the matches, Mahdia Movements Family owner Rajkumar Singh said, “It is basically a PPP/C fundraiser, held in Moruca to bring out the youths to be part of the activities. There were other sports as well as cricket. Movements Family just played a role in donating $60,000 to the male and female winners of the football, and as well a role of $30,000 each in the cricket match.
Behind everything, we are basically with the Government and supporting the Government, and that would be Movements Family.”
