Repeat offender Jameil Charles appeared on Friday before Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan to answer an armed robbery charge which detailed that in April 2016, whilst in the company of others and being armed with a dangerous weapon (a gun), he robbed the Princess Casino at Providence, East Bank Demerara, relieving Daniel Ronald of some , 051, 000, property of Princess Ramada Casino.

The 28-year-old was also arraigned before Magistrate Judy Latchman on a charge which dtailed that on August 12, 2016, while armed with a gun, he robbed Juliette Housell of $900,000 and one Bank of Guyana cheque, property of Sudesh Persaud.
Unrepresented by legal counsel, the defendant pleaded not guilty to both charges, telling the court that he was in prison on a murder charge (which was recently dismissed) during the time when the alleged Princess Hotel Casino robbery was committed; and had been in the interior after his release from prison.
