The second edition of Rupununi Football Association (RFA) rebranded “Champions League 2017” will kick-off on March 4 and runs until July 2.
President of the RFA Ken Grant announced that the number of participating clubs has risen to 16 as compared to last year where only five clubs managed to organised their membership.
He further explained the rules in details which governed the tournament and thanked all the clubs for their effort in making it to this year’s league.
Grant was also appreciative of Mahdia Goal Getters FC for registering as it showed that the geographical layout of the region will not stop football.
Also present at the launching were Secretary Colin Henry ,Guyana Football Federation (GFF) committee member Rayan Farias along with representatives from Tabatinga FC, Gladiators FC, Snatchers FC and St Ignatius Sports Club and referees.
Male and female matches will be played simultaneously throughout the league and teams will be competing for cash prizes, trophies and medals.
