BCB/Elizabeth Styles 2019 Under-21 Cricket Tournament…
The Berbice Cricket Board (BCB)- organised Elizabeth Styles Under-21 Cricket Tournament continued recently in the Ancient County.
A total of 20 teams are participating in the Knockout 50-Over Tournament, which is being sponsored by US-based cosmetics brand Elizabeth Styles.
Promising players Kevlon Anderson, Adrian Sukhwa and Marvin Prashad each scored centuries for their teams.
Anderson blasted 110 in a well-timed innings as Rose Hall Town Gizmos & Gadgets amassed 349 all out in 48.4 overs versus Bush Lot Rising Star.
He received support from Jonathan Rampersaud (51); Mahendra Gopilall (55) and Nicholas Lawson (23). Latchman Dauna had 2-28 and Nicholas Shivrattan, 2-65.
The visitors were then bowled out for 146 in 24.5 overs to lose by 203 runs. Kris Ramnarine (25); Prakash Bharrat (13) and Navindra Prasad (26) were the principal batters as Anderson had 3 for 21 and Kevin Sinclair, 3 for 29.
Defending champions Blairmont were defeated by D’Edward Cricket Club, but still advanced to the quarter-finals after D’Edward were found guilty of playing an over-age player.

At No 73 Ground, Albion Community Centre defeated No 73 Cricket Club by 275 runs. Albion made 343 for 6. Adrian Sukhwa – 110; Jeetendra Autar – 54; Kevin Umroa – 58; Reyad Karim, 38. Ganesh Singh had 4 for 71.
No 73 Cricket Club made 68 all out. Kevin Umroa bagged 4 for 25 while Beesham Surujnarine claimed 3 for 18.
At Scottsburg Ground, Rama Krishna Cricket Club defeated Scottsburg United by seven wickets.
Scottsburg United – 77 all out in 22 overs; J Joseph (11); Naresh Singh – 2 for 11; Chitram Singh – 2 for 21; Inderdat Singh – 2 for 10. Rama Krishna Cricket Club – 80 for 3 in 15 overs; Gavin Chatterpaul (34); Rockeel Gordon – 2 for 21.
At Bush Lot Ground, Bush Lot Rising Star defeated Paradise Cricket Club by eight wickets. Paradise Cricket Club – 49 runs in 10.1 overs; O Bharrat (13); Devag Persaud – 5 for 14. Bush Lot Rising Star Cricket Club – 50 for 2 in 8.1 overs. Yurendra Budhoo – 18 not out.
At Albion Ground, Albion Community Centre crushed No 19 Kendall’s Union Cricket Club by 10 wickets.
No 19 Kendall’s Union Cricket Club – 22 all out in 13.4 overs; H Harris (10); Govraj Ramesh – 5 for 6; Mahendra Chaitnarine – 3 for 10.
Albion Community Centre – 24-0 in 3.4 overs; Reyad Karim (10) and Jeetendra Autar (11).
At Port Mourant Ground, RHT Gizmos & Gadgets defeated Port Mourant Cricket Club by 145 runs.
