RHTY&SC 2021 Christmas programme: RHTY&SC cricket teams donate to Port Mourant Public Hospital

The 12 cricket teams of the Rose Hall Town Youth and Sports Club (RHTY&SC) last Thursday presented necessities to the Port Mourant Public Hospital.
This presentation marks the launching of the massive 2021 Christmas programme.
On an annual basis, these teams: Poonai Pharmacy under-12 and -13, Farfan and Mendes under-15, Bakewell under-17 and Second Division, Pepsi under-19 and Intermediate, Vitality INC under-23, Metro Female, Namilco Thunderbolt under-21 and First Division, host a multi-million-dollar charity programme which includes donations to several institutions.
RHTY&SC Secretary/CEO Hilbert Foster, along with his deputy Simon Naidu, would spearhead the programme, which would include the distribution of 1000 food hampers, 7000 toys, 1000 special Christmas packages, 500 Christmas breakfast, and cycles and school bags for less fortunate families.
The teams would also make donations to fellow cricket clubs, senior citizens’ homes, and orphanages.

These teams are also hoping to host the seventh edition of the very popular Rose Hall Town Christmas Village in the compound of the Rose Hall Town Primary School. Hosting of the Village, if approved by the COVID-19 Task Force, would be held from December 22-24, during which the entire compound of the school would be transformed into a dreamland for kids.
The donation to the Port Mourant Public Hospital consisted of two tables, two office chairs and two blood pressure testing machines. Foster, who has a close working relationship with the management of the hospital, had visited he institution to find out its immediate needs.
Foster has said the Port Mourant Hospital has a special place in his heart, and as long as he is the Secretary/CEO of the RHTY&SC, support would continue for this public institution.
He has hailed the professional attitude of the staff, and has had special words of praise for head of the institution, Dr G Sukhdeo. Regional Vice Chairman Zamal Hussain handed over the donation to the Hospital Administrator Shaneeza Nabi. Ministers of Housing Collin Croal and Susan Rodrigues were both present at the ceremony, and congratulated the club for making a positive difference in the community.
The RHTY&SC has, over the last two years, made several significant contributions and sponsored three awards ceremonies for the hospital’s staff, including doctors, nurses, management staff and porters.
