Richard Chatura Continues to Dominate in SPR Ent. 40 Overs…
– leads team to victory with another century
The SPR Enterprise/ECCC 40 Overs and the inaugural Neville Ramotar T20 cricket competition continued last Sunday, as teams on the East Coast of Demerara duked it out in several matches.
Richard Chatura continued his excellent form in the competition as he scored another century
The scores for the following matches are: Lusignan East trounced Helena SC by 10 wickets at Strathavon as Helena SC posted 94 all out in 28 overs. Bowling for Lusignan were P Balkissoon and P Appana who took 2 wickets apiece. Needing 95 for the victory, Lusignan reached their target in 6 overs with Bashkar Yadram scoring an unbeaten 67.
Buxton SC got the better of Mahaica Cavaliers by 6 wickets at Buxton. Mahaica Cavaliers scored 121 all out in 27 overs. K Fraser 76 was the leading run scorer as Andre Mcfarlane and Marlon Thomas took three wickets apiece. Buxton chased the target with ease as they made 125-4 in 17 overs with Marlon Thomas and Kwesi Douglas scoring 36 and 34 respectively.
Enterprise BSC defeated Lusignan B by 8 wickets at Enterprise ground. Lusignan B fell for 105 all out in 33 overs. K Franklin to score with 30 while B Samaroo and Z Mohamed took 3 and 2 wickets apiece. Enterprise BSC then replied with 108 from 21 overs as Rohan Mangal led from the front with 41 not out, despite Navin Persaud’s 2-18.
Fairfield SC defeated Canegrove SC at the Fairfield ground by 55 runs. Fairfield SC posted 297-6 from 40 overs. Richard Chaturia continued his good form with 101, whilst Ramnarine Chatura and T Charles supported with 37 and 35 respectively. M Sanchara bagged 4-63 from 7 overs. Canegrove SC tried but in the end were only able to score 242 all out from 30 overs, with C Ageday hitting 81 and Y Umroa, 46. Richard Chaturia and L Tacochandra took three wickets apiece while Ramnarine Cahtura took two.
Lusignan A made light work of LBI SC at Lusignan by 9 wickets. LBI SC made 110 all out in 33 overs as K Bishundial, KC Ramraj and R Basdeo each took 2 wickets apiece to demolish their opponents. Lusignan A replied with 114-1 in 17 overs with Steven Ramdas unbeaten on 63.
Ogle CC defeated Beehive SC by virtue of a walk over. Meanwhile, two matches were played in the ECCC/Neville Ramotar Memorial T/20 knock out competition at Enmore. In game one, Strathavon B defeated ECCCC B by 14 runs. Strathavon B scored 144-4 from 20 overs with Jermain Persaud leading with 54. In reply, ECCCC B got over the line as they posted 130-9, with C Seemangal, 36; and D Wilson, 24.
In game two, Enmore CCCC A defeated Strathavon A. Strathavon A were restricted to 120-7 as Chaterpaul Hemraj 39 and Gobinraj Hemraj 29 were the two main contributors as Satesh Jainarine bagged 3-14. ECCCC A made light work of the score as they posted 126-4 in 19 overs with Hemraj Garbarran 46 and Amir Khan scoring an unbeaten 38.
SPR Enterprise 40 Overs competition continues this weekend with matches at Enterprise, Ogle, Lusignan, Better Hope, Cane Grove and Strathavon grounds.
