In the 2024 FIFA Series, Amos Ramsay made history for the Riddim Squad and the youths of Mocha-Arcadia by being the first-ever football player from that community to appear on such a platform. And he helped the Golden Jaguars to defeat Cambodia (4-1) in Saudi Arabia, guaranteeing the Golden Jaguars’ a splendiferous finish in the series.
Marcus Roberts, goalkeeper of the Riddim Squad Football Club, made history when he was chosen to represent Guyana in the 51st CARIFTA Games, held in Grenada from March 30 to April 1. He participated in the U-20 age category in the 100M, 200M, and 4x100M races.
These two energetic and intelligent youngsters were born in Mocha-Arcadia, and from as young as 10 years old, each joined Mocha-Champs Football Club, and eventually transitioned to Riddim Squad.
Both youths have maintained their discipline in sports and academics, and Marcus Roberts went on to attend St. Stanislaus College, while Amos Ramsay went on to attend North Ruimveldt Multilateral School.
Moreover, both these youths continue to encourage other youths in the Mocha-Arcadia community to strive for excellence; as the journey of neither was easy, but they continue to adhere to their team motto and fight through all odds.
