Dear Editor,
The Sanctimonious Gangster did not want Region Four (Demerara-Mahaica) to be recounted; instead, he wanted all 10 regions to be counted.
His slogan was “each box, each ballot, must be counted”. He personally invited a special team from CARICOM to conduct the recount, but yet has not accepted their report.
How can you convince me, or any other civilised person, to accept this behaviour as that of a leader who wants to govern Guyana?
In two years and counting, we, the people, have been fighting for you to upkeep your own slogan of honesty and decency! From one court room to another, citizens are just waiting for you to uphold the constitution. At this point, you have dragged us through the longest wait for Elections results. Don’t Guyanese deserve better than this?
We have been hit by the deadly pandemic COVID-19, and to date, there is no proper plan set in place to fight this pandemic. People have lost their jobs during this pandemic. Our funds are drying up! I’ve seen firsthand how people are being beset by poverty.
While the Sanctimonious Gangster hid through this pandemic, people like me and others have been foot soldiers, helping as much as we can.
Let Democracy prevail, and have the correct numbers from the recount used to swear in the rightful President.
