…in need of repairs, streetlights – residents
Motorists and residents traversing the Riverstown Public Road in Region Two (Pomeroon-Supenaam) are calling on the public works and roads department of the Region Two Administration to urgently conduct repairs on the community’s public road, which serves as the main access road.
Drivers utilising the road explained that it was littered with several potholes, which could cause serious harm to motorists and cyclists.
The road, they pointed out, has three very potentially dangerous holes which could lead to an accident if road users were not careful. What is even more dangerous is the fact that the stretch of road has no streetlights and drivers would not be able to see the holes in the roadway.
A primary school is located in the area. The residents are, therefore, calling on the Region Two Administration to urgently rectify the condition of the road before further erosion intensifies the danger, which is compounded by the treacherous turn in the road.
They are also urging the authorities to install street lights in the area. Several persons had lost their lives in the past in the area as a result of accidents.
