Riveting semi-finals kick off today

MoPH/Milo/Petra U-18 Schools’ Football…

— Chase Academy, Sir Leon’s poised to be thriller

The exciting 5th edition of the Ministry of Public Health, Milo Petra Organised Schools under-18 Football has reached the semi- final stage and will see some tantalizing football this evening at the Ministry of Education Ground, Carifesta Avenue.
In the first semi-final from 17:00h Masters Academy will clash with Morgan’s Learning Centre followed by two-time defending champions Chase Academy against Sir Leon’s Lesson from 19:00h.

Four teams will produce their best today as they battle for a spot in the grand final

Both matches have the potential of producing serious fireworks but one would have to give Chase and Morgan’s the favorites tag to reach the final.
Morgan’s Learning Centre will be relying on the services of Leon Richardson, Osafo Mattheson, Alistair Frank, Carl Griffith, Orin Moore and Daniel Nedd to bolster their chances of moving on while the duo of Akeem Giddings and Calvin Peters have shown the ability to be genuine threats on the ball going forward for Masters Academy.
Meanwhile, for Chase Academy, their list of marque players runs long but a lot will be dependent on the performances of captain Jeremy Garrett, along with Job Caesar, Kelsey Benjamin and Nicholas Mc Arthur to put to their team closer to a three-peat.
Sir Leon’s Adrian Aaron is the event’s top goal scorer with 13 goals while teammates Meshach Barratt, Omari James and Tyrese Forde have scored six, three and two goals each.
Each of their services will be required to outscore the powerful Chase’s unit.
Teams are battling for the $500,000 first prize on offer, while the second, third and fourth place finishers will pocket $300,000; $200,000 and $100,000 respectively – money that will go towards a school project.
The tournament is sponsored by the Ministry of Public Health under the Theme “Stop the Violence.”
