I am from the diaspora, but I still keep up-to-date on a daily basis on what is taking place in Guyana. Today I read about the businesswoman being robbed at a bank in Berbice. One paper said $30 million and another said $18.5.
Persons from the same family were robbed twice before, and they did not learn their lesson. Why on earth would someone, especially a businesswoman, carry such a large sum of money without any proper protection? How much would it cost for armed security personnel to escort her?
I hope a lesson is being learnt from this last episode.
