He said LGC would lead the way by adding more holes and other improvements. Hanoman has agreed to be a part of this expansion initiative.
The other birthday boy, Pandit Rabindranauth Persaud, followed Hanoman’s remarks by committing to continue this birthday celebration for many years to come. He also echoed his co-sponsors’ call for growing the game.
After the winners were presented their trophies and prizes, Vice President of the club, Paton George, thanked the birthday boys and guests for their support of golf in Guyana.
“The atmosphere of golf and family is central to our growth strategy. We are in talks with a few sponsors to host a few major activities which focus on introducing the game to children of all ages. The club will soon announce a few of the activities planned for the Easter weekend and beyond,” George has posited.
Closing out the ceremony was President of LGC, Patanjilee Persaud, who thanked everyone for coming out and sharing in the festivities, and committed himself to carefully managing the growth of the game.
