The traditional Kennard Memorial Turf Club (KMTC) Boxing Day horse race meet received a boost from Rohan Auto Spares of 843 Good Hope, Mahaicony and No. 64 Village, Corentyne, Berbice.

Proprietor of the business Rohan Booj-Raj presented a trophy and an undisclosed sum of cash for the feature B and Lower event to KMTC Chairman Cecil Kennard at his office in Brickdam on Friday.
According to Booj-Raj, he presented the trophy in memory of his late son Rovin Booj-Raj who passed away on December 26, 2005. In addition he stated he is elated to support the event and wished the jockeys well.
Chairman of the KMTC Cecil Kennard thanked Booj-Raj and family for the support and spoke about the importance of sponsorship in sports. Entries will be closed on Sunday and lovers of the sport can expect an action packed day since the track is in good shape.
The event will be held on December 26 at Bush Lot Farm, Corentyne. The winner of the B and Lower race which covers a distance of 9 furlongs will take home a trophy and $1, 2, 00,000, the runner up $600,000, third place $300,000 while fourth place $150,000 and fifth $128,000. The races will be run under the rules of the KMTC and owners of horses must pay at least $5,000 for each horse at the time of entry.
