Rose Hall Town Primary retains spelling bee champion title

Rose Hall Town Primary has once again topped the Rose Hall Town Anniversary and Development Organisation’s (RHTADO) annual spelling bee competition.

The event, now in its 12th year, was held last Wednesday organised for Primary schools in the area as part of the town’s anniversary celebrations.
The town is currently celebrating its 46th anniversary.
Rose Hall Town Primary with a total of 69 points, were ahead of Port Mourant Primary (65 points), Tain Primary (64) and Cropper Primary (52).
This is the third straight year that Rose Hall has won the competition.
Meanwhile, Port Mourant and Tain received trophies donated by Godfrey Persaud Button Shop for their efforts which placed them second and third, respectively.
The spelling bee champion, Kayla Stewart, of Rose Hall, attained 26 points while runner-up Crystal Persaud, of the same school, earned 23 points. Both Stewart and Persaud received bicycles donated by the Office of the President and gifts from Poonai’s Pharmacy and Touch of Class Boutique.
The competition was held at Rose Hall Town Primary School and was organised by RHTADO for the past 12-years. The organisation extended special thanks to Lucky Dollar, Home Lime Furnishing, Digicel, Frasers Hall and Auto Rental, Touch of Class Boutique, Poonai’s Pharmacy, Godfrey Persaud Button Shop and Wynette’s Beauty Salon, D Balram Shane and Son, Digital Edge and the Office of the President.
