Round 3 commences

BCB/Lewison General Store Under-15 tournament…

The Berbice Cricket Board (BCB) has started early preparations for the 2020 GCB Inter-County Under-15 tournaments by hosting the Lewison General Store Under-15 tournament.

Fourteen teams divided into three zones are contesting this tournament, and the results would be used by the Balram Samaroo-led Berbice Selection Committee to select a 30-man training squad to participate in two trial matches.
At the end of the first two rounds of the tournament, Albion, Blairmont and Rose Hall Town Farfan and Mendes have played unbeaten.
Raashad Gafoor of the Blairmont team has scored the only century to date, while Nathan Kistama, Romeo Deonarine, R. Budhana and Keiron George have each claimed a five-wicket haul.
Albion defeated Port Mourant by 32 runs. Albion posted 62 all out in 30 overs, with Damion Cecil top scoring with 14. Budhana bagged 6 for 21, J. Latchman bagged 2 for 8, and Salim Khan claimed 2 for 11 as the top performers.
In reply, Port Mourant could muster only 30 all out. Rampertab Ramnauth top scored with 24, while nine batsmen were dismissed without scoring. Afraz Budhoo bagged 5 for 8, Anthonio Ramphal bagged 2 for 19, and Shiv Harripersaud bagged 2 for 1.

Nathan Kistama

Edinburgh defeated East Bank Blazers by nine runs. Edinburgh posted 83 all out in 20 overs, compliments of S. Gafoor (3 for 31) and Eson Ellis (3 for 22). However, East Bank Blazers made 75 all out in 15 overs, thanks to a massive bowling effort by Keiron George (5 for 18) and David Fraser (4 for 18).
At #72 Cut and Load Ground, Rose Hall Town Farfan and Mendes Ltd got past #73/ Scottsburg by five wickets. #73/Scottsburg scored 57 all out in 21 overs, with Nathan Kistama taking 4 for 15, Matthew Pottaya taking 3 for 2, and Khemraj Tika taking 2 for 16.
RHTFM could muster only 58 for 5 in 15.2 overs, as T. Doobay snagged 2 for 17 and L. Singh 2 for 15.

Second Round
At the Area H Ground, RHT Farfan and Mendes Ltd crushed #19 Kendall Union by 238 runs. RHTFM made 274 for 7 in 45 overs, with Nyron Hicks (74) and Raphael Fraser (60) leading with the bat, while G. Harris took 4 for 36 and D. Etwaroo 2 for 20.
#19 Kendall Union were then bundled out for 37, as Nathan Kistama bagged 5 for 8 and Matthew Pottaya 2 for 3.
At Albion, Albion defeated #19 Kendall Union by 207 runs. Albion made 266 all out in 48 overs, then dismissed the opposition for 59.
Tucber Park got past East Bank Blazers by 50 runs. Tucber Park posted 85 all out in 22.4 overs, then destroyed the East Bank Blazers for 38 all out.
