Milo Schools U-18 Football Tournament…
It will be a packed weekend of high intensity football when the Petra organized, Milo Schools Football Tournament hits its round of 16 stage from today at the Ministry of Education Ground, Carifesta Avenue.
Earlier this week, the fixtures for the knockout stage were revealed which has a double header pitted for today, as Group toppers Charlestown and Bishops’ High, take on Golden Grove and Cummings Lodge, from 11:00 hrs and 12:45 hrs, respectively.
On Sunday, four matches are scheduled with the first commencing from 11:00 hrs. Group winners Annandale, Christianburg-Wismar, and St Cuthbert’s Mission tackle Friendship, Canje and Vergenogen in the first three matches.
The Linden side is the only team to have won all three Group matches.
President’s College takes on Queen’s College in the final match of the day from 17:00h hrs.
On Monday, the last two spots in the quarterfinal are up for grabs with as St John’s will face St Stanislaus from 15:30 hrs then Lodge trashes it out with Tucville in the other showdown from 17:30 hrs.
Eight teams found the exit after the completion of the Group stages last Sunday.
This year will see a new champion after 2018’s winner, Sir Leon’s Lessons was barred from the tournament.
The grand finale is set for April 14 at the same venue.
