Ruimveldt man admits to breaking into aunt’s store

A 33-year-old labourer who admitted to breaking into his aunt’s boutique and carting off a quantity of clothing, was on Monday remanded to prison.
Orlando Rickett of West Ruimveldt, Georgetown, appeared before Magistrate Sherdel Isaacs-Marcus. He admitted that on December 20, 2019, at South Ruimveldt, Georgetown, he broke and entered the boutique of Asha Gray and stole a quantity of luxury brand clothing valued $315,000 and $100,000.
The court heard that the Virtual Complainant secured her boutique at about 13:00h and went out but upon her return, she noticed that the door was open.
According to the prosecutor, upon entering the boutique the woman noticed several articles missing and reviewed the CCTV footage. It was then she realised that it was her nephew who went in and exited with the items. As such, she reported the matter to the police. He was remanded to prison and will be sentenced on January 20, 2020.
