Ruimveldt man fined, jailed for attempting to smuggle mobile phone into Lusignan Prison

Fifty-six-year-old Linden Benjamin of River View Ruimveldt, Georgetown was sentenced to two months imprisonment and fined 70,000 for attempting to smuggle a mobile phone into the Lusignan Prison.
Benjamin was arrested on June 10, 2024, at Lusignan for ‘Supplying Prohibited Article to Prisoner’.
He appeared before Magistrate Fabayo Azore at the Vigilance Magistrate’s Court on Thursday where he pleaded guilty to the charge.
As a result, he was fined and sentenced by the magistrate.
