Rural Constable robbed in National Park

Armed bandits pounced on a Rural Constable, robbing him of his cellular phone and a small amount of cash in the National Park on Thomas Lands, Georgetown on Saturday.
According to reports, RC Royston Fordyce, 26, of Thomas Street, Kitty, Georgetown was at the National Park about 19:15h when he was confronted by two males, one of whom was armed with a handgun.
Thomas was relieved of his cellphone valued some $210,000 and $3000 cash by the perpetrators, who then made good their escape on bicycles.
The matter was reported and an investigation has been launched. No arrests have been made to date.
