After rescheduling twice, the Open tourney with $100, 000 at stake for the player who sinks a Hole-in-one, will finally tee this Saturday at 12:30hs at the Lusignan Golf Course.
Inclement weather on February 11 and 12 forced the intended pre-Valentine’s Day tourney to be postponed to a more weather-conducive date. A good turnout hampered the local bevy of golfers, who merely managed a few holes during Sunday’s attempt before being undone by the rain.
Sanjay Persaud, owner of the jewelry Store located on Sheriff St, Campbelville, has been a part of the Lusignan Golf Club (LGC), for the past six years. Persaud, a part-time golf player indicated that a variety of spoils ranging from prizes for the top four Best Net scores, Nearest to Pin and Longest Drive, will be up for grabs this Saturday.
Also, for the first time ever, any golfer who makes a Hole-in-One will be awarded $100,000 for charity compliments of the sponsors.
Meanwhile, Persaud who has been sponsoring one tournament a year for the LGC has stayed committed to continuing his efforts which began last year; which is sponsoring two tournaments for 2018 going forward.
