Golfing action will continue at the Lusignan Golf Club (LSC) today, October 2 as the Sankars Auto Colour and Auto Works Golf Tourney is set to kick off with a bang.
The tournament will tee off at 12:30h and will be medal play over 18 holes net score shotgun start. The first-place winner will cart off a trophy plus a $5000 voucher, second place a trophy plus a $4000 voucher, and third place a trophy plus a $3000 voucher. For the best net front nine winner, a trophy plus a $1500 voucher are up for grabs, for the best net back nine winner a trophy plus a $1500 voucher, and for the player that gets nearest to the flag, a trophy plus a $1000 voucher.
The LGC has noted that players who participate in tournaments from September 18 to October 25 will be eligible for consideration for free entry into the Guyana Open Tournament via a competition format.
Points for free entry will be awarded for the first 10 best net scores for each tournament. Points will also be awarded to the top five players for the day based on their net scores. The player who accumulates the most points at the end of the exercise will be declared the winner, and can participate in the Guyana Open without having to pay the tournament fee.
All participants are advised to contact the club’s manager on the day of the tournament to collect their score cards, pay the tournament fees, and proceed to their allocated tee boxes to tee off at 12:30h. All COVID-19 protocols will be in effect.
The tournament is sponsored by the company as it observes the 152nd birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi.
