Seaman’s car missing after parking in front of workplace
The motor car belonging to a seaman who works along Sussex Street, Georgetown was reportedly stolen on Tuesday after he parked it outside his work place.
Chandika Rai, the owner of the Mazda 2018 Pearl White vehicle, with registration number PRR-2425, related that he would usually park his car at a
special area inside the compound where he works every day, but on Tuesday he was told by management that he had to park it outside because the place was congested.
He recalled that he parked his car about 09:00h, secured it and went into the building. He reportedly left the building at 12:00h for lunch and then realised that his car was missing.
“I thought something was blocking it, that’s why I couldn’t see it, but when I go outside, my car was gone I couldn’t find my car,” the seaman said.
After discovering his car was missing, he made a report to the Police. A search was launched and while in the vicinity of Eccles, East Bank Demerara (EBD), Rai saw his car being driven past him.
The car was reportedly headed in the direction of Georgetown. The Police are in possession of that information as investigations continue.
