Security guard nabbed with gun, ammo

Ranks of the Guyana Police Force’s Narcotics Branch on Friday arrested a security guard with a firearm, matching ammunition and ammunition components.
According to the Police, the suspect has been on the radar of anti-narco cops “for quite some time.” The discovery was made at about 14:00h in Queenstown, Georgetown.
It has been reported that the ranks intercepted the vehicle which the suspected was driving and subsequently conducted a search, during which the items were found. They include a .45 pistol fitted with extended barrel and butt, along with 40 live rounds of .45 ammunition and a magazine with nineteen 7.62 x 39 ammunition concealed therein.
Investigations are in progress.
