Security guard slapped with unlawful wounding charge

A 32-year-old security guard of the Pomona Housing Scheme, Essequibo Coast, Region Two (Pomeroon-Supenaam), has been charged with unlawful wounding.
Rohan Cornelius appeared before Magistrate Ravindra Mohabir at the Anna Regina Magistrate’s Court on Thursday, where he was charged with the offence of unlawful wounding, contrary to section 50 of the Criminal Law (Offences) Act, Chapter 8:01.
The charge alleges that Cornelius unlawfully wounded Lloyd Narine during an incident at Pomona Housing Scheme on June 14.
When the charge was read to him, Cornelius pleaded not guilty. The court granted $100,000 bail, and the case was adjourned to July 3.
