Security officer attacked, injured by close acquaintance

A 22-year-old security guard of Adventure, Essequibo Coast, Region Two (Pomeroon-Supenaam), was on Sunday wounded during an altercation with a close acquaintance. Based on information received, the incident took place at about 21:30h during a lime at Adventure.
Police stated that the victim alleged that while he was hanging out with a friend, the perpetrator came up to him and dealt him one cuff to his chest. The suspect further dealt him one blow to the head with a broken glass bottle before making good his escape.
The injured man was taken to the Suddie Hospital where he was seen and treated. A report was made and the Police, up to press time, were not successful in arresting the perpetrator.
Earlier in the month, a 24-year-old labourer of Non Pareil, East Coast Demerara, received at least six stab wounds about his body and a punctured lung, after he was attacked by a perpetrator who is known to him.
Reports are that the victim had attended a birthday party in the village.
During the party, the labourer allegedly had an issue with the perpetrator, which became violent. As such, the perpetrator armed himself with a broken glass bottle and dealt the victim several stabs about his body.
The injured man was picked up and rushed to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC) where he was examined and admitted. His condition was regarded as serious.
