Being hosted in Paramaribo, Suriname, that country’s Director of Sport, Mitchell Kisoor, and the President of the Surinamese Olympic Association, Mr Ramon TJON-A-FAT, were present at the auspicious opening ceremony, before the players from around the Caribbean took to the courts.
The Guyanese contingent consisting of Narayan Ramdhani, Jonathan Mangra, Darrell Carpenay, Akili Haynes, Tyrese Jeffrey, and recently crowned Junior Champion Priyanna Ramdhani, got off to a flying start in the first round.
