Senior cop accused of raping 13-yr-old granted bail

After being on remand for almost two weeks on a rape charge, Assistant Superintendent of Police Seecharran Singh as released on $250,000 bail on Tuesday.

Singh is accused of raping a 13-year-old girl between June 17 and 18, 2018, while they were both in the vicinity of the East Bank of Demerara.
On Tuesday, Singh made his second court appearance before Magistrate Sherdel Isaacs- Marcus.
He was represented by Attorney-at-law Bernard DaSilva.
