The Office of Professional Responsibility (OPR) is now conducting an investigation against an Assistant Superintendent of Police attached to G Division (Essequibo coast-Islands) after he was responsible for a pornographic video going viral on October 15, 2017.
According to information received, the Officer is a member of a Community Policing Group on Whatsapp, and on the day in question, he posted a video –which appears to have been filmed by him – of two individuals performing sexual acts.
The CPG Whatsapp group reportedly has several prominent members of society, including Ministers, Ministry representatives and senior Police ranks.
This newspaper was informed that the Police Officer failed to issue an apology to the members of the group and instead opted to remove himself.
Following the outcome of the investigation, legal advice will be sought, according to the Police.
