Sergeant charged for sexually assaulting woman

Forty-eight-year-old Norris Henry appeared on Monday before Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts to answer to a charge of sexual assault.
The Police Sergeant was not required to plead to the charge which stated that on October 17, 2018 at Albert Street, Alberttown, he sexually assaulted a woman, by rubbing her legs without her consent.
According to the prosecution’s case, the woman went to the Alberttown Police Station to make a report and while being escorted by Henry in the Police vehicle to apprehend the person she made the report against, the accused began to rub her leg.
The matter was reported and an investigation was launched. In court on Monday, Henry was released on $120,000 bail. The case will continue on May 21, 2019.
