Several persons were taken into custody following the discovery of a quantity of ganja, one firearm and several live rounds of ammunition during a Police operation in Berbice on Wednesday.
The items discovered during the operation
The operation was conducted in several areas including St John’s Street, Pope Street, New Amsterdam, Sheet Anchor Village, East Canje and New Street, Cumberland, East Canje, Berbice, Region Six (East Berbice-Corentyne)
The Police have confirmed that during the search, 63.5 grams of cannabis along with a .32 Beretta pistol and 33 live rounds of matching ammunition were unearthed.
