Several in custody for murder of Rural Constable

Several suspects are currently in Police custody and are being questioned in connection to the murder of 28-year-old Seon Anthony Burry, also called “Cenestro”, whose body was discovered with multiple stab wounds to the neck and throat on Tuesday morning at D’Urban Park.

Commander of Region Four (Demerara-Mahaica) Sub-division A (Georgetown), Assistant Police Commissioner Edgar Thomas, when contacted on Thursday, stated that in light of the nature of investigations, he is unable to provide many details.
However, he confirmed that investigators have already narrowed down suspects and zeroed in on a few of them. These suspects are presently in Police custody pending investigations.
The Rural Constable was stabbed to death at D’Urban Park, Georgetown, and was found at about 05:45h laying there less than two hours after he had left his Lot 194 Section A, Field 7, South Sophia, Greater Georgetown home to train athletes.
He was a Rural Constable (RC) attached to the Police Force Sports Club.
Burry, who was enlisted as an RC in the Force on July 17, 2015, leaves to mourn his mother, a child, and siblings.
