Several Lindeners, who made virtual appearances before Magistrate Wanda Fortune at the Linden Magistrate’s Court, were placed on bonds to keep the peace, while others were granted bail for the alleged assaults committed against each other during a brawl at the Wisroc Central Tabernacle at Wismar, Linden, Region 10 (Upper Demerara-Berbice).
Amlak Griffith was granted bail in the sum of 15,000. It is alleged that he unlawfully assaulted Aseny Burnett at the location on Monday, August 10, 2020. Griffith pleaded not guilty. Burnett was also counter-charged with the offence of assault causing actual bodily harm and granted $25,000 bail for allegedly assaulting Griffith.
Carlotta Angus was also charged with the offence of assault causing actual bodily harm and was granted $20,000 bail for allegedly unlawfully assaulting Esther Gittens to cause her actual bodily harm. She pleaded not guilty.
Meanwhile, Nkeom Gordon was charged with the offence of assault causing actual bodily harm for the alleged assault committed on Ester Gittens. He pleaded not guilty and was granted bail in the sum of $25,000.
Additionally, Cloyd Walters was granted self-bail by the Magistrate for the alleged assault committed on Ester Gittens. He also pleaded not guilty and was granted $25,000 bail.
Walters was also charged with the offence of assault causing actual bodily harm for the alleged assault committed against Kestedemeno Griffith. He pleaded not guilty and was placed on $25,000 bail.
Ester Gittens was also counter-charged for the alleged unlawful assault committed against Carlotta Angus. She pleaded not guilty and was granted $15,000 bail.
Gittens was also counter-charged with the alleged unlawful assault committed against Cloyd Walters. She pleaded not guilty and was granted self-bail. Gittens was also charged with another count of assault for the alleged assault committed against Nkeom Gordon.
The cases will continue on November 23.
