Several to be arraigned in WBD robbery

Several persons are expected to be arraigned today at the Vreed-en-Hoop Magistrate’s Court in relation to a robbery which was executed at a Chinese restaurant at Goed Fortuin, West Bank Demerara on March 3 at about 03:00hrs.robbery
This is according to Police “D” Division Commander, Leslie James.
Reports are that several men broke into the worker’s quarters, the second building in the yard. The Chinese restaurant is situated at the front, and and the owner, Su San, occupies living quarters at the back.
This publication was told that one of the workers was awakened by a strange sound, and upon checking was confronted by a group of men, who took away his mobile phone and took him into the living quarters, where they demanded money and other valuables.
Reportedly armed with cutlasses, crowbars, and knives, according to Police “D” Division Commander, Leslie James, the armed men ransacked several rooms in the building but did not find cash. However, they fled the scene with one computer, one mobile phone and bottle of Hennessy, James said.
The Police were contacted and a search was quickly launched. At the scene, a toy gun was recovered. However, it is uncertain if that was the instrument used to conduct the daring robbery. Within hours, the police had apprehended several persons in relation to this incident.
