Shafura Hussain Foundation donates golf gear to the LGC

The Lusignan Golf Club (LGC) has benefited from a generous donation of brand new golf clubs, among other gear, compliments of the New York Chapter of the Shafura Hussain Foundation.

The LGC received brand new golf clubs from the USA-based Shafura Hussain Foundation

The generosity of this organisation has seen more than 100 brand new golf clubs, bags, balls and tees being donated by William and Aleena Knight (daughter and son-in-law of the late Shafura Hussain).

The late Shafura Hussain (Aunty Shaka) had been a patron of kids and sports in her Albouystown neighbourhood throughout her life, and had always been of the opinion that sports led to better opportunities for kids. She had always encouraged her nine – yes, nine children — to participate in sports.

Her legacy lives on through her children, with sons Kamal, Anwar, and Aleem (Current President of the LGC) in Guyana; and daughters Amina (Canada), Saleema, Aleena, Azeema and Nikki (USA), also feeling that by developing the game of golf, Aunty Shaka’s memory would live on, as more and more children are given the same opportunity to learning the game.
The brand-new equipment is now available at the club for anyone interested in learning the game to come out, and the LGC would provide coaches for any adult or child interested in learning the game, Mon-Sun from 8 am -noon AT NO COST!. For more information, please call 220-5660.
