Shahab Hack makes donation to Tiger Bay group

Businessman Shahab Hack made yet another donation of footballs and athletic shoes to individuals in the Tiger Bay area on Sunday.
Hack, who is actively involved in the area for over two years, explained that his involvement arose through the various initiatives the Guyana Police Force would have in communities like Albouystown and those similar in nature.

The businessman explained that he has been actively involved with the group as he pays several visits with them on a weekly basis. However, his main aim is give persons from these communities an opportunity to engage in sports rather than fall victim to crime and other unscrupulous activities.
He made the example that “I grew up watching the likes of Rohan Kanhai, Basil Butcher, Carl Hooper play for West Indies. Now if you look at the recent World T20 team, there was not even one Guyanese in the squad.”
Hack added that “when you support groups like these you help to build sports men and women in Guyana, because a lot of them have talent and they are just in need of the opportunities.”
Hack ended by encouraging other businessmen to come on board and support these communities rather than marginalise or stigmatise them. “They should see the good in them and help in any way possible,” he intimated.
The philanthropic work of Hack extends to communities on the East Coast, East Bank and West Bank. He said he will continue to be actively involved in activities of this nature.
