Home Sports Shaw wins President/Shafura Hussain Memorial Foundation’s Trophy
Aasrodeen Shaw, Lusignan Golf Club (LGC) Treasurer, whipped a competitive field of golfers in last Saturday’s President/Shafura Hussain Memorial Foundation Tournament.
The great camaraderie that ensued despite the keen competition was refreshing, as some veterans in the game came to lay their stake on the President’s Trophy.
At end of the day, it was Shaw – 66/17; Lekhnaraine ‘Mahesh’ Shivraj – 67/18; and Patrick Prashad – 70/9 who emerged 1st, 2nd, 3rd, respectively in the Net results. Other next 10 good performances came from Dr Philbert London 71/20; Brian Hackett 72/18; Lakeram Ramsundar 73/11; Shanella London 73/16.
Bholawram Deo 73/17; Esau Shamshudin 73/20; Papo Haniff 74/9; Roy Cummings 74/11; Gavin Todd 74/19 and Clifford Reis 74/23.
Skill prizes for Nearest to the Pin and Best Gross were won by Bholawram Deo (8 feet) and Patrick Prashad (79) respectively.
So far this year, despite many attractive prizes for a hole-in-one, someone is yet to win that prize, hence the Charities prize for today is still to be won.
Captain Chatterpaul ‘Chen’ Deo expressed gratitude for the President’s initiative in sponsoring the Tournament, while veteran golfer Esau Shamshudin represented the President in the prize-giving ceremony.
