Shepherd grateful for Adidas deal with Cricket Zone USA

Guyana Amazon Warriors fast bowling all-rounder Romario Shepherd was in all smiles when he landed a three-year Adidas kit deal with New York cricket equipment giants, Cricket Zone. The Berbician, Shepherd who previously signed a two-year contract with DAZZA, is delighted with this opportunity with Adidas.
“It is a great feeling to be signed by one of the top sports company in the world and Mr Ravi Etwaroo is the one who make the deal happen and a big thanks to him I really appreciate it her is a really amazing guy”, Shepherd explained.
He further thanked Adidas; “I am really thankful I been using Adidas shoes for the past 3 years and that’s the most comfortable shoes I’ve ever wear and now I have a deal with everything and the gears are fantastic too”, Shepherd disclosed.
The Tucber Park lad has been making great strides in major tournaments, since his CPL 2018 debut he has never looked back.
He made a great impact in the 2018/2019 Regional 4-Day tournament, finishing as the leading fast bowler and has been selected for West Indies A teams and training camps.
The right arm seamer immediately made an impact in the GAW opening game with 2-18 in four top overs. He removed on of Afghanistan’s best batsman, removing Najibullah Zadran, who scored a half-century against Australia in the ICC Cricket World Cup and the Sri Lankan Thisara Perera.
Shepherd is the second Guyanese to land a deal with Adidas. In October 2018, West Indies ODI and Guyana Amazon Warriors opener Chandrapaul Hemraj was given a one-year contract with the brand. Having played only 21 matches in his First-Class career, Shepherd has already grabbed 67 wickets, including two five-wicket hauls, since making his debut against Jamaica in 2017.
His recent 4-Day season with the Guyana Jaguars was certainly his breakthrough season, with him finishing as the best fast bowler in the entire tournament, having taken 37 wickets while playing in all 10 matches, and scoring 315 runs with the bat, including two half-centuries.
His performance is ample testimony to his level of fitness and development of his game overtime. He has the ability to zip the new ball and seam it around, but in the white ball game he has the ability to bowl those deadly Yorkers.
Shepherd has a best bowling figure of 3-29 on his debut in CPL against the powerhouse Trinbago Knight Riders team, the defending champions. In his debut match, he picked up the prize scalps of Colin Munro, Brendon Mc Cullum and Darren Bravo. Showing great talent Shepherd has a great future ahead and this sponsorship deal is another stepping stone in his blooming career.
