Shimron & Nirvani Hetmyer to support RHTY&SC Christmas Charity programme
During the past week, the Rose Hall Town Youth and Sports Club (RHTY&SC) announced that Mr and Mrs Shimron Hetmyer have informed that they would be supporting the 2021 Christmas Charity Programme by making a significant contribution.
This RHTY&SC Christmas Charity programme aims to share more than 1000 food hampers across the county of Berbice. The Hetmyers were in contact with RHTY&SC Secretary/CEO Hilbert Foster, and confirmed that on their return to Guyana next month, they would officially hand over the sponsorship.
Shimron is currently with the West Indies team at the T20 World Cup in the United Arab Emrites (UAE). Shimron and Nirvani Hetmyer have been very supportive of Foster’s work at both the BCB and RHTY&SC.
Earlier this year, the couple sponsored two cricket tournaments at the grassroots levels in East Canje, established a million-dollar trust fund to assist players and clubs, and donated $3M in hampers towards flood relief.
The RHTY&SC would like to express profound gratitude to Shimron and Nirvani Hetmyer for their kindness, as the club seeks to make a positive difference in the lives of many during the festive season. “May God bless your marriage, and grant you peace of mind and happiness,” the RHTY&SC social media page has said.
The Hetmyers had, earlier in the year, fulfilled their commitment to the development of Berbice Cricket when they presented the Berbice Cricket Board (BCB) with a cheque for one million dollars. Those funds were for the historic Shimron/Nirvani Hetmyer BCB Cricket Trust Fund.
