“Short Boss”, prime suspect in the shooting death of 21-year-old Ronsley Clarke, which took place on August 2, 2018 at “C” Field Sophia, Greater Georgetown, was arrested on Thursday on the West Coast of Demerara, after Police received information of his whereabouts and went to the area.
He was handed over to detectives in ‘C’ Division who are continuing their investigation into this shooting death.
“Short Boss” is shortly expected to be arraigned with the capital offence of murder.

girlfriend. Based on information received, the victim and the suspect had been known to each other, and had reportedly had a disagreement about a month prior to the shooting, while at a party.
On the evening in question, Clarke was in company of his girlfriend, Alesha Thomas, at the main access road at “C” Field Sophia when the suspect was reportedly seen drawing a small silver pistol from his jacket. An alarm was raised, but before anything could be done, Short Boss reportedly discharged three rounds in Clarke’s direction.
Clarke was struck to his right-side rib and to his right side upper back, and fell to the ground while the gunman quickly made good his escape in an unknown direction.
The Police were called to the scene, and Clarke was picked up and taken to the Georgetown Public Hospital (GPHC), where he was pronounced dead on arrival. Two .32 spent shells were recovered from the scene of the shooting.
