A 12-member jury was empanelled at the Demerara High Court to hear the case of Ewath Cobis, called “Short Man”, who is accused of murdering Ronaldo Joseph, called “Long Hair”. The murder occurred on December 11, 2012 on the Essequibo Coast.
At his arraignment on Thursday before High Court Judge Simone Morris-Ramlall, Gobis entered a not guilty plea when the charge was read to him. Five witnesses are expected to testify during the course of the trial. He is being represented by Attorney Mark Conway, while Prosecutor Seeta Bissundial is leading the State’s case.
